There is something so magical about Paris during fashion week; you can't walk down a single street without hearing the distinct clack of Chanel Pumps against the cobble-stone walkways. During this one week the city completely transforms. Everywhere you look there are designer handbags, outrageous outfits, and there is no such thing as the world practical. Time seems to stand still, and you begin to wonder if this is real life. The whole city is buzzing with excitement, and you can feel the creativity pumping throughout the veins of Paris. I will never forget my first designer photo-shoot opportunity for Chanel. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and was left with no choice but to fake it. I still remember looking around to see me standing in a group with some of the worlds best photographers. Talk about intimidating! This was the moment that realized I could make it in the fashion world. They didn't question if I belonged there, instead they asked what article I was shooting for. "Ummm, my blog?" I responded. If an editor from one of Paris's biggest fashion magazines believed in me, I guess I could too. This opportunity sparked my interest in the fashion world, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. I am so grateful for this opportunity, and for the people who helped make this shoot happen. I can not wait for what opportunities lie ahead!
Well friends Haute Couture week here in Paris has come to an end, and I am exhausted. There were so many stunning collections, beautiful minds, and influential personalities that contributed to make this week impactful, and unforgettable. This was my first ever fashion week in Paris and let me tell you... it may look amazing in photographs, but on the other side of the camera it is total insanity! In order to catch each show we were sprinting from show to show all day long! We arrived at Dior an hour before the show started to photograph the entrance. It's exciting yet calm... until the stars arrive! Photographers are running around trying to shoot the best looks. There is a lot of yelling, cursing, and the frantic sounds of shutters clicking. Everybody wants that one perfect shot that will make them famous, yet all of this insanity only lasts about 25 minutes.
Saying that the Dior collection was beautiful would be a total understatement. It was impactful, well thought out, and executed flawlessly. Even though the show was beautiful, the real runway is out on the streets. The streets are where the fashion can make an impact on everyone, not just the lucky few who get into the show. 5 people can take the same garment, and style it completely differently! I love street fashion because you get to see the many different points of view, where as a runway you only get to see the designers point of view. The runway is always beautiful, but the streets are where real fashion is.

If you know me, you know that i'm obsessed with anything retro! I love the 50's, the 60's, and the 70's. I've been wanting to do a retro inspired photo-shoot, so me and my friend Tanaya decided to take it back to the 50's!
