If you know me, you know that i'm obsessed with anything retro! I love the 50's, the 60's, and the 70's. I've been wanting to do a retro inspired photo-shoot, so me and my friend Tanaya decided to take it back to the 50's!
Lately I've had all of my time tied up in photography. I have always wanted to create some sort of fashion lookbook, but I never really had a reason to... until now!
I have always been intoxicated by the romance of the unusual.
I've always felt a sort of romance in the unusual and the strange.. which is why I'm creating my very first lookbook "Dark Romance"
I have always thought that people shy away from things that they aren't used to; so many artists dilute themselves for the pleasure of others. This is particularly popular on Instagram. Scrolling through your feed you see the typical "Instagram Photoshoots". Warm colors, bright backgrounds, Happy themes. You very rarely see images that have a raw sort of emotion to them; so that is exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to make people feel a little uncomfortable, push the boundaries, and explore the dark side of fashion; that is very rarely showcased.
I'm so excited to be putting this together! I created all of the headpieces, created the layout, and took the photos (thanks to my amazing friend Britt Brooks for modeling!)
Here's a little sneak-peek of our shoot! Ill be posting a link to the online look-book this Friday, so keep an eye out!
